Wild Beasts are a British four-piece with a penchant for wordy lyrics, baroque instrumentation, and from what I can gather, books by authors I can’t pronounce.
Despite being signed to Domino there is nothing remotely trendy about their music (unless there’s some kind of pastoral resurgence I’m unaware of), their singer in particular has the remarkable ability to oscillate between Church choir piety and what I can only describe as guttural squawking in the matter of nano-seconds.
