WATCH: Stonefield’s New Tune ‘Midnight’ Is A Spacey Slice Of Psych Rock

Stonefield have come aways since they were pulled up by Triple J Unearthed while they were still jamming in high school. The Melbourne sister quartet made their name playing Led Zeppelin influenced psychy hard rock – big bluesy riffs, solos, yada yada yada. You know the sound. Meaty and basic.
Their recent output is a bit different, though. Taking cues from the Aussie west coast psych scene (i.e. Tame Impala, duh), the sound has softened out, and become a little bit more atmospheric. Their new tune, named Midnight, premiering today on PEDESTRIAN.TV, exemplifies it.
Noodly guitars, arpeggios, harmonies – yup, this is 21st century Aussie psych through and through.

N-n-nice. Stonefield are doing a few shows over the next couple of days – including one in Brizzo tonight. Have a squiz.
