The New Twilight Soundtrack Looks Good

For all the torso inadequacy, homo-erotic fan fiction and Vampire fetishism it has wrought, the way increasingly Twilight series has impacted on one aspect of popular culture for the better – original soundtracks. The franchise’s last soundtrack (Twilight: New Moon) featured the likes of Thom Yorke, Grizzly Bear, Beach House, Bon Iver, St. Vincent, Lykke Li, Editors, Death Cab For Cutie and other members of the indie rock canon who you would least expect to soundtrack a teen epic that’s ostensibly about celibacy.

Unsurprisingly, the saga’s latest soundtrack (for Twilight: Eclipse) covers the same Pitchfork-friendly territory with contributions from Sia, The Dead Weather, Unkle, Beck, Bat For Lashes, Band Of Horses and the biggest no-brainer of them all – Vampire Weekend. You know, because the film’s about…well, you know why. Check out the rather impressive tracklisting/assemblage of artists below…
