The Chavs – Supergroup

In what is the equivalent of calling your band “The Bogans” British supergroup “The Chavs” (think fake Burberry sportswear and obscenities) are set to release an album next year…

Masterminded by Tim Burgess of “The Charlatans” the band was originally formed when Burgess was asked to perform a solo gig in 2004, and assembled an all-star backing band. The core members now consist of The Klaxons’ Jamie Reynolds and Dirty Pretty Things’ Carl Barat who plan to write and record an album together (with a little help from friends) come August. The band was originally a novelty super-group, playing covers and a few original songs at festivals but Burgess has since stated: “I just want it to be very serious you know, which would kinda be conflicting in the way that people have seen us in the past, but I think it might be quite avant garde to be honest.”

It might be time to stop drinking the Hater-ade and embrace Chavs/Bogans/Westys/Bros as an important part of society…
