In what is perhaps the first but definitely not the last time, America’s poet laureate Taylor Swift has been quoted verbatim before the Senate Estimates communications committee by ABC Managing Director Mark Scott who, when pressed by Queensland Nationals Senator Matthew Canavan for his view on this year’s triple j Hottest 100 “Taylor Swift controversy“, responded in a fashion that will never go out of style.
“Shake it off!” reportedly interjected another minister on the parliamentary oversight committee following Scott’s deft reply. He then proceeded to report that, media trolling aside, this year’s Hottest 100 went off without a hitch.
