Earlier this month we posted a Splendour In The Grass lineuppremonition prediction that spruiked The Pixies, The Strokes, Smashing Pumpkins, Hot Chip, Mumford & Sons, LCD Soundsystem and Bat For Lashes as potential Splendour attendees. Our friends over at Polaroids Of Androids heard the same murmurs and in the lead up to the first Splendour lineup announcement we’ll refine and add to the list for your speculative pleasure. Please feel free to add your predictions in the comments below but as it stands here are five acts we’re fairly certain will grace Splendour later this year.
THE PIXIES – Initially doubtful on the count of their recent Australian tour (and the fact that they hate each other) we’re now quietly confident that The Pixies, who recently announced an Auckland show two days after Splendour, will headline the whole shebang.
MUMFORD & SONS – The band behind Triple J’s Hottest Leak Of All Time have just announced a national tour with a sizeable break between their July 28th show in Melbourne and their August 3rd date in Sydney. You know what that means…
HOT CHIP – Despite an appearance at Fuji Rock it’s still entirely plausible that they could do both festivals – especially since they’ve got a new album to promote and Australians love them. We’re pretty confident on this one.

THE TEMPER TRAP – Like Mumford & Sons, Melbourne’s Temper Trap have a sizeable break in their national tour that coincides perfectly with Splendour’s dates. This one seems like a lock.
