It Took Less Than 30 Mins For Splendour To Sell Out, You Festival Fiends

Would you believe it: Splendour In The Grass has sold out this morning within an half hour of releasing tickets to the wider public.

The three-day festival – which takes over the Byron Bay Parklands July 20-22 and is headlined by Vampire Weekend and Lorde and Pulitzer Prize recipient Kendrick Lamar – had another blink-and-you-miss it sale this morning when tickets opened at 9am AEST.

Triple J reckon that tickets went “around 26 minutes” of being on sale, and that the three-day passes and camping tickets vanished after 16 mins. Wild.

We hope you caught a ticket, because those who didn’t are absolutely fuming about missing out, taking to social media (and, I’m going to guess, this article’s comments section) assumedly after their ‘SITG 2018’ group chats couldn’t contain the disappointment.

Tickets were previously available yesterday for Byron Bay locals who braced a physical line in town, which some people are saying had a “7 hour line”. There was also a pre-sale for previous SITG punters, which went on sale Tuesday.

No matter how devs you are, if you missed out on a ticket, Splendour recommend keeping your cool and waiting for the official resale option, which will go live in three weeks at 9am AEST, Monday 14 May. You can join the wish list here.

For all those with tickets, congrats. For all those without, better luck next year.
