If you thought that teenage rebels in caps casually smoking trees at Odd Future was the most surprising thing you’d see at the Sydney Opera House, think again. Because RiFF RaFF, not to be confused with the unintentionally hilarious Aussie rapper of the same name, has just been announced as the headliner for one of a series of club nights to be held at the Sydney Opera House for Vivid LIVE this year.
The Texan MC, Spring Breakers muse and “most viral human being in music”, per Gawker, will spearhead the Goodgod Danceteria! soiree May 31 with support from West Coast running mate 100s, collaborator DollaBillGates, Chicago outfit The DJ Rashad & DJ Manny Show, as well as the GG approved locals Client Liaison, Pelvis and Levins.
There will be other parties curated by other Sydney legends like Future Classic, Astral People and Club Kooky but this has got to be one of the most incongruous musician-venue pairings ever and we’re not quite sure what to make of it.
