Being the amicable Parisian gentlemen and purveyors of perfectly crafted pop that they are sun-inflected four piece Phoenix are kind of hard to hate.
The band continue the good vibage with the release of Lisztomania’s video the second single from their forthcoming LP Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. The video finds Thomas Mars and his merry men escorting a blimp, sound checking on their way to the Franz Liszt Museum in Bayreuth, Germany. If there’s a more infectious ode to a nineteenth century composer I’d like to hear it.
Apparently “Lisztomania” is also the perfect backing track for a brat pack dance montage. Damn, Molly Ringwald has some moves.
