Paul McCartney Was Almost In Them Crooked Vultures

According to an interview with The Daily Mail Sir Paul McCartney almost joined the Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, John Paul Jones super-group Them Crooked Vultures. Also known as the most likely Beatles/Nirvana super-group today since a Ringo Starr/Krist Novoselic drum and bass combo would only ever happen if Unicorns were real and Hell froze over because flying pigs with ice jet packs paid Satan a visit.

Says Macca of the potential hook up: “We went out for a bite to eat…and Dave [Grohl] told me he was starting this band with Josh [Homme]. I asked him who was playing bass and he rather sheepishly told me he’d approached John [Paul Jones]. So you read it here first; Paul McCartney was nearly the bass player in Them Crooked Vultures.”

Cool Macca, so you were almost the bass player in Them Crooked Vultures. Stuart Sutcliffe was also almost the bass player in The Beatles but you don’t hear too much about that guy do you?
