NRL Grand Finals To Smother Us All With The Voice Australia

Nine continues its diligent cross promotion of The Voice by announcing that US pop punk relics Good Charlotte will provide the pre-match entertainment at this year’s NRL Grand Finals in Sydney. The Madden Brothers will be joined by Irish rock band The Script (frontman Danny O’Donoghue just so happens to be a coach on The Voice UK) who will perform their hit singles ‘Hall of Fame’ and ‘Break Even’ as part of a pre-match tribute to this year’s retiring NRL players including Petero Civoniceva (Broncos), Ben Hornby and Dean Young (Dragons), and Nathan Hindmarsh, Luke Burt and Casey Maguire (Eels).

“We are excited to play at the NRL Grand Final; we always feel so at home in Australia, so to be included in a sporting event like this is really exciting for us,” said the brothers Madden. “Hopefully we don’t screw up in front of such a big crowd! Can’t wait to see everyone there! Thank you Australia.”

It was also announced that Voice alum Sarah De Bono will perform the national anthem.

The 2012 Telstra Premiership Grand Final takes place at ANZ Stadium September 30th.
