All you need to know about Bridezilla’s new video for “Western Front” (taken from their outstanding debut LP “The First Dance”) is that it features synchronized dancing, jazz hands, kitsch interiors, a captive elderly audience and concludes with a human pyramid. Strangely at no point does this feel cheesy. Not for lack of trying though. I mean there’s a Vishnu-style multi-limbed flourish in there somewhere – but they’re obviously in on the joke not the butt of it.
Unless of course, my Sarcasm Detector is broken (it happens!) and it’s completely earnest instead of ironic. In which case, yes, this is kinda cheesy. The good kind of cheese though, the kind that makes you pause and think “more bands should finish their music videos by assembling a human pyramid”.
