Melbourne Music Week Program Announced

Melbourne Music Week hits Victoria from November 18 and they’ve just announced a stellar-looking prorgram if ever we saw one.

The shindig will incorporate the city’s amazing small bars and laneways and features a star-studded lineup of talent. Punters will get to see the likes of Midnight Juggernauts, Cut Copy, Wally de Backer (Gotye), Spiral Stairs (Pavement), Dexter, Martin Martini, HTRK, Joelistics, Oscar + Martin and Super Wild Horses, not to mention a swag of upcoming bands. Many of them will be playing at the Live Music Safari on November 24 which includes ten venues like £1000 Bend, Revolt (Kensington), Cherry Bar, Roxanne and The Toff teaming up for a night of revelry and legitimate public nuisance.

Voted “Best New Event” at the 2011 Australian Event Awards, MMW will be held across 40 locations in Melbourne, not to mention incorporating heaps of cool shit like a playable Giant Theremin, glowing water tanks that respond to music and an open-air KUBIK venue that will host the beats of Japan’s DJ Krush, as well as Gaslamp Killer and Daedelus. For those wanting to get their talk on, there are speeched from SXSW directors, seminars from Berlin Music Week reps and probably anything else under the sun you can think of.

Phew – we’re exhausted!

Check out the entire line up for yourself over at the MMW website.
