M.I.A Drops Surprise New Track, “Can See Can Do”

Maya Arulpragasam, AKA M.I.A has crept out of her 2014 music hiatus—following on from her 2013 album ‘Matangi’—by dropping a brand new banger overnight, ‘Can See Can Do’: a powerful track that won’t go amiss in soundtracking your International Women’s Day. Bad girls do it well, etc.

Originally announcing on twitter that she would be unleashing a single titled ‘All My People‘ today, M.I.A quickly backtracked and decided to instead release ‘Can See Can Do’, a track that throbs and inspires just as much as M.I.A’s classic, textbook offerings.

This morning’s release officially allows us to set phasers to ‘fkn keen’ re: the upcoming album from M.I.A, which is reportedly in the works for this year. “Summer is coming,” M.I.A said on twitter, hinting at her 2015 release.

‘Can See Can Do’ was prefaced by M.I.A on twitter with this: “DEMOCRACY CONVERSATIONS ! TAMILS ARE STILL WAITING ! AND NO MY BEATS ARE NOT BETTER WITHOUT MY POLITICX.”

Listen below. In other news, if you add some wayward body oil and a smear of glitter in every imaginable bodily crevice, consider this an accurate portrait of post-Mardi Gras Sydney, today. Praying for you all.
