Kylie Minogue Plans World First For Sydney’s NYE Fireworks

Do you want to witness a spectacular New Year’s Eve first not involving creative new ways to regurgitate six schooners of beer and half a kilogram of day-old tiger prawns? Kylie Minogue has you covered. The diminutive pop princess, enlisted as a creative ambassador for this year’s 2012-13 Harbourside extravaganza in Sydney, has taken to her apparent non-nominal post with surprising dedication informing everything from the event’s theme – “embrace” – its colour scheme, its soundtrack and its experimental, self-serving fireworks.

According to The Daily Telegraph, a sparkling Minogue conceived musical note firework will illuminate Sydney’s skyline, its harbour and its adjacent reflective surfaces – iPhones, CBD office buildings and super yacht cocaine mirrors – to celebrate Minogue’s 25th year in music.

“She’s been a lot more involved than we expected,” said event producer Aneurin Coffey. “When you actually get
someone like Kylie on board you never know quite what you’re going to
get, but she was absolutely ecstatic to be involved.”

Translation? You’ll probably definitely be hearing this at some point.
