Has Barack Obama been playing linguistical tricks on us all?
Yesterday, we made note of Obama’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, in which the US President denied Kanye West‘s claim that the two of them converse on the phone, and that he calls Yeezy “on the home number.”
When gossip monsters TMZ caught up with Kanye at the airport, on the way home from Paris Fashion Week, he told a different story, saying “I love Obama. He called our house before, he knows that.”
“Don’t try to pit us against each other,” he continued. Since you made it this far, go ahead and watch the clip below:
We’ve since watched yesterday’s Obama video again, and when asked about Kanye, his exact response is “I love his music, he’s incredibly creative … I don’t think I’ve got his home number.”
On reflection, “I don’t think I’ve got his home number” doesn’t necessarily mean that the two have never spoken on the phone before. Besides which, who even has a “home number” these days?
Are Obama and Yeezy might be bestest Facetime or Snapchat buddies? Do they live-Tweet Scandal together on their secret accounts? How deep does this rabbit hole go?
