She may have only just been out here for Vivid LIVE 2018, but it’s looking like the Sydney Opera House may cop a return visit from Solange, if this little teaser from the iconic sails is anything to go by.

Posted on the Opera House’s Facebook with the promise of a “big announcement” on Tuesday (tomorrow!), a video using a silhouette over the buildings famed architecture and some chopped up audio over the top.
Now I dunno about you but that silhouette looks a hell of a lot like the portrait Solange used on the front of her latest record When I Get Home, and it sounds like the wily little scoundrels at the Big House have mushed together a few samples from her tracks.
And the caption “Guess who’s coming home?” – well the proof is in the pudding here, clearly.
I’ve done a bit of research for this Very Serious Investigative Journalism™ and in the next few months, Solange’s tour schedule has her playing two shows in Germany next month before heading to LA to playing Tyler, The Creator‘s Camp Flog Gnaw in November. So that leaves…the foreseeable future for her to show up and show out at the Opera House again, right? RIGHT??
If you missed out on one of the kajillion Solange shows/minor residency at the Opera House last time, it looked a little like this absolute spectacle:
Yeah, exactly.
But I also thought that this might be the other big-haired queen at the moment – Lizzo. She’s going to be in the country next year for FOMO Festival so what if there was somehow a night that she could do a one-off at the Opera House? It’s a big fingers-crossed moment, but good lord do I ever want to hear Sasha Flute echoing out through the Concert Hall.
Regardless of who we’re copping an announce from tomorrow, it’s gunna be solid. And I’m probably going to want to fly back up to Sydney for it so RIP in peace, my wallet.
