Foo Fighters Goat Island Set on [V] Today, Plus Listen To New Album Now

Foo Fighters have only recently left Sydney, but everybody is still talking about their marathon three hour set from their top secret Goat Island show last Thursday.

Channel [V] set the whole baby up and had the cameras rolling even as Dave Grohl and his merry men smashed well into overtime. If you have pay TV, tune in from 11am today (that’s in about ten minutes AEST) to watch the set in its entirety. It’s also the first chance to hear their new album, Wasting Light, raw and on stage, as they play it front to back in the first forty minutes. Stick around for ‘My Hero’, ‘All My Life’ and pretty much every other song they’ve ever recorded, plus Dave serenading a drunken bearded guy who looks exactly like him and running up to the VIP balcony with his guitar to scare the living daylights out of all the prima donnas. Essential viewing.

Wasting Light has apparently leaked in the last 24 hours, to which Foo HQ have retorted: “Leak? Rad. Was starting to think no one cared. Our version sounds better.” You can stream the whole album at their site, but we’ve included two highlights for you below, gunning opener ‘Bridge Burning’ and epic centerpiece ‘I Should Have Known’, which features Krist Novolesic from Nirvana.
