Are the floating beats and honeyed vocal licks of Flume too chill for you? That’s okay because the man behind the moniker, Harley Streton, has a “more club friendly” side project he’d like to introduce you to. It’s called What So Not, a collaboration with fellow Sydney-based beat craftsman Emoh (not to be confused with the Lou Barlow album of the same name), and today they released The Quack EP for your streaming pleasure.
What So Not’s promoter, Sweat It Out, says the EP is just a taste of things to come: “We’re only a matter of weeks away from dropping the full vocal version of the ‘The Quack EP’ which features three massive collaborations with Action Bronson, beat-maker Blood Diamonds and D Mac, Queens’ youngest rap export of 2013.”
Sounds legit. Flume even advised his Facebook fans to “Forget Flume & go listen to What So Not.”
