Fairgrounds Fest Drops Dope Lineup W/ Client Liaison & Future Islands

The third annual Fairgrounds Festival has dropped its lineup this morning, and hoo mama let me tell you it’s a good’un.

The first weekend of summer is reserved for a beaut trip to Berry on the NSW south coast (where all good things come from, but I am heavily biased), where the showgrounds are transformed into a country fair-esque musical weekend that includes cream of the crop artists, food and market stalls, coights/tug-o-war/kids games, and DJs by the local pool.

Leading the pack is US idie-pop lord, The Shins, who are back for their first Australian tour since 2012. Joining them are Future Islands, who put on one of the most impressive, literally steamy performances at this year’s Splendour In The Grass.

More international artists include Noname and Spiral Stairs (the solo work from Pavement‘s Scott Kannberg) from the U.S., and Marlon Williams and Aldous Harding coming over from New Zealand.

Local acts include D.D. DumboClient LiaisonHockey DadYou Am IJess LockeThe Teskey BrothersShogunHolly ThrosbyJapanese BreakfastPress ClubJen Cloher, and Leah Senior.

Tickets start at $167.90 for the weekend, and tack on a little more if you wanna sleep over at the festival’s Rivercamp, or the pop-up hotel. They’re on sale MondayAugust 22 (or a little earlier if you’re in on that presale biz).

Check out the line-up vid below and get keen AF for getting into the country for the summer.

Don’t forget ya togs.
