Guess who’s back, back again…
In the first single from his forthcoming LP “Relapse” Eminem reverts to his old and dare we say stale M.O. The clip finds Slim Shady lampooning the easy targets of tabloid pop culture (Sarah Palin, Jessica Simpson, Amy Winehouse, Lindsay Lohan et al.) dressing in drag, complaining about the media and hawking uninspired toilet humour.
Don’t get me wrong I think Eminem is a talented lyricist – he breathes fire on Jay-Z’s “Renegade” and possibly trumps Jigga on his own track. It’s just that almost a decade on from 2000’s celebrity slaying “Real Slim Shady” it’s the same old shit with a weaker beat and new targets. Maybe you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
