Chris Pratt Reimagined ‘Everything Is Awesome’ If It Were Sung By Mouse Rat

While visiting the Graham Norton Show this week to promote the upcoming release of The Lego Movie 2: The Second PartChris Pratt dipped back into his former Parks & Recreation days and performed a song from the first flick as Andy Dwyer. Mates, it’s every bit as good as you can imagine.

Channelling his days in that terrible-yet-fantastic band Mouse Rat, which Pratt explains as “frat boy rock“, Graham Norton whips out an acoustic guitar which he just happens to have handy (oh what? this old thing? ha ha ha I always keep a perfectly-tuned guitar that’s already hooked up to amps and ready for broadcasting purposes, just in case!) and he launches into the below.

It’s like if a Lego nerd was applying to replace Scott Stapp in Creed.

Chris Pratt’s rendition is rough and gruff, and a true version of the hyped-up-on-red-cordial version laid down by Tegan & Sara and The Lonely Island for The Lego Movie that would fit right in if Bradley Cooper was trying to write a kids song in a prequel of A Star Is Born, before Jackson Maine found success and instead was writing jingles for kids TV.

Anyway please enjoy, and I’m extremely not sorry for getting this earworm into your head again.
