I’ve recently gotten into the habit of heading down to the beach for an ocean dip before work, and I can honestly tell ya that it’s been a total dream to just revel in a little pocket of quiet before my (usually) chaotic-as-heck work days. I know I’m still riding the ‘New Year, New Me’ high, but I’m keen to make this a regular part of my routine because it’s genuinely done major bits for my mental wellbeing. I’m telling ya.
In a similar vein, yesterday, one of our editors asked us to collate a list of all the small things we’ve been doing this year to make our busy lives that little bit more manageable. A flurry of responses returned things like “paying attention to how I speak to myself,” “journaling at a café,” and “dancing to my favourite songs in the kitchen,” so, it appears I’m not alone in setting some hot new mental wellbeing goals for 2023. ‘Tis the year for it, after all.
