GET PSYCHED: The Glastonbury Of Food Fests, MAD, Is Coming To Sydney

Attn: Grub-enthusiasts of ‘Straya:
MADThe annual Copenhagen-based food festival, is landing on our sun-kissed southern shores this April
Touted as the Glastonbury of food festivals, MAD (which translates to ‘food’ in Danish) is an annual gastronomic celebration started by acclaimed Noma chef, Rene Redzepi, back in 2011
And lucky for us, it’s taking a vacay Down Under this year:

For the uninitiated foodies among us still wondering what the hell MAD is exactly, it’s a “not-for-profit organisation that works to expand knowledge of food to make every meal a better meal”.
Basically, it’s an event where a bunch of big-dog food peeps come together to present ideas/new projects in a TED Talks kinda way.
“In the spirit of exploring the future of food, the first-ever MAD SYD will be a day of talks and ideas revolving around the topic of Tomorrow’s Meal, hosted in one of the world’s most iconic buildings.”

Here’s hoping it will be as lit as the Aussie Idol GF.
Featured speakers include Kylie Kwong (aka kween of the best fried rice recipe you can make at home ever), Rebecca Huntley and Redzepi himself.
Here are some piccies from the 2012-incarnation of the show:
A wild, cravat-less Matt Preston appears.
Tickets start from $99 buckaroonies, and you can get your pre-sale tix locked up HERE.
