7 Dishes That Thailand Damn Near Perfected & For Which We Are Grateful

PEDESTRIAN.TV has partnered with Flight Centre to get you exploring more of Asia with their A+ deals here.

Thai food could actually be the best grub ever.

I won’t fully commit to that statement as I like my life and don’t wanna fear it, but it’s definitely up there. Sydney has basically created a suburb dedicated to Thai restaurants (ahem, Newtown), and Menulog has made many a hungover dollars from the cuisine. (I, for one, am able to cure a pounding headache and dry mouth with the lick of a satay stick.)

Below: the near-perfect dishes gifted to us from Thailand that 10/10 live up to the hype.

Go on, just Thai ’em.

1. PAD THAI

With prawn. Every goddamned time.

2. SATAY CHICKEN SKEWERS

It’s just perfection and there’s no two ways about it. No cutlery or condiments necessary, which, for someone who puts BBQ sauce on next to everything, is a big call.

3. PAD SEE EW

Ew? More like YEW, amirite? Whether vego or carnivorous, you can choose a flave that floats your boat.

4. LARB GHAI

Healthy and fresh and spicy as shit,” says Adrian Fagerlund from P.TV. If you like your shit spicy, you’ll larb it too.

5. PAPAYA SALAD

Fresh. Spicy. Sour. Delicious. Did I say FRESH? AF, you guys. Fresh AF.

6. PAD GRA PROW (THIA BASIL STIR FRY SITCH)

Sometimes Asian dishes can feel a lil’ heavy on the ol’ tummy, but it’s hard to come by a chilli basil stir fry that’s made me feel all gross-like. I do so love you, light yet fulfilling satisfaction.

7. MASSAMAN CURRY

Massa, Massa, man. I wanna be, a Massaman.

Thai dishes are the bee’s knees etc, but like anything in this life, it’s better experiencing it in its native land.

Flight Centre
are currently pumping out epic two-week tours through Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, and you bet your homebound butt they’ve got local refreshments on the menu from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai and Pai. If you wanna Thai that one for size, go ahead here.
