Lisa Wilkinson Has Spoken About Her Big Move After A Well-Earned Sleep-In

Former The Today Show host Lisa Wilkinson has awoken from her hard-earned slumber, telling reporters that she’s doing just fine after her surprise move from the Channel 9 breakfast mainstay to Channel Ten’s The Project.

Speaking to reporters outside her home, Wilkinson said “my phone has gone into complete meltdown” over the move.

She also said her first mission of her post-Today career was scooting off to visit her 89-year-old mum, who she described as “possibly my most loyal fan of The Today Show.

“She’s been a very loyal viewer for a very long time. She’s very worried about me, and I’m just going to go and let her know I’m OK, in fact I’m more than OK, I’m great.”

When pressed on speculation surrounding contract negotiations with Channel 9, Wilkinson declined to comment, except to say “I feel very privileged with all the opportunities I’ve been afforded over the years.”

Earlier, the remaining Today crew celebrated Wilkinson’s contributions and mateship, with Karl Stefanovic praising her calmness, professionalism, and friendship throughout the years.

Wilkinson has signed on to join The Project and The Weekend Project, which will presumably afford her a hell of a lot more shut-eye.
