Watch Trailers for ‘X-Men’ and ‘Arthur’

X-Men: First Class
Only weeks ago we previewed leaked screen shots of Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class; which wasn’t much, but had us anticipating the trailer at least. And here it is. Starring Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr and James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, the film takes us back to the origins of X-Men before their transformation as Magneto and Professor X: to the 1960s amidst the Cold War. Though there is little dialogue the trailer gives you a taste of film’s special effects accompanied by dark, cinematic music. Fassbender is guaranteed to give a standout performance here. The cast also boats January Jones, Rose Byrne, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult and Oliver Platt. X-Men: First Class is set to open in the US on June 3.

Arthur
After starring together in The Tempest, comedic provocateur Russell Brand and the esteemed Helen Mirren, have been paired together once again in the Dudley Moore 80s remake of Arthur. Brand aptly plays the unruly playboy heir (cue Brand’s usual quips) who falls for the woman he isn’t arranged to marry (Greta Gerwig); and Mirren plays Arthur’s long-time nanny. Here’s the official synopsis:

Irresponsible charmer Arthur Bach has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and the good sense of lifelong nanny Hobson to keep him out of trouble. Now he faces his biggest challenge – choosing between an arranged marriage that will ensure his lavish lifestyle or an uncertain future with the one thing money can’t buy, Naomi, the only woman he has ever loved. With Naomi’s inspiration and some unconventional help from Hobson, Arthur will take the most expensive risk of his life and finally learn what it means to become a man.

Directed by Jason Winer (Modern Family), the film also features Jennifer Garner, Nick Nolte and Louis Guzman. Arthur will open in the US April 8. Check out the trailer below:
