Watch Rose Byrne In ‘Insidious’ Trailer

A few months ago we took a look at a teaser clip from Insidious, the new film from director James Wan and screenwriter Leigh Whannell, Australian filmmaking team responsible for the Saw horror franchise. This time they’ve moved away from the overdone torture-porn vibe of Saw and its ad infinitum sequels and into the classic haunted house subgenre.

Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson star as parents who move into an old house to build a nest for their family, when an accident results in one of their young sons falling into a coma and that’s when shit gets weird / insidious. Whannell also has an acting role as one half of a ghost-hunting team alongside Australian funny man Angus Sampson – presumably providing some comic relief from the scares.

When it premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival the consensus was the it is actually a genuinely scary trip but we’ll have to wait til it opens on 1 April to see for ourselves. Check out the trailer below.
