Sacha Baron Cohen was already on pretty shaky ground at the Academy Awards, thanks to the time he showed up in character as General Aladeen from his movie The Dictator, then spilled what he claimed to be Kim Jong-il‘s ashes all over Ryan Seacrest.
This year, he was forbidden from showing up in character, but he still managed to present an award as Ali G, thanks to his long-suffering wife Isla Fisher, who, according to a recent appearance on Kimmel, smuggled vital elements of his costume inside her Spanx.
As was pointed out by Kimmel, this basically made her a “drug mule” for her husband’s costume, to sneak it through security; we don’t want to dwell on where she had to “insert” the yellow glasses, but hey, they made it in.
Fisher also shared a video of her helping her husband on with his costume in the bathroom, a stressful 45 minutes involving a fake stomach illness and Jennifer Garner.
“Am I never getting invited again?” she asked Jimmy. Probably not, sorry Isla, but this is still a good story:
