WATCH: Fans Are Sharing Carrie Fisher’s Original Star Wars Audition Video In Tribute

Hearts continue to attempt to mend across the world as we deal with the passing of Carrie Fisher, feminist icon, mental health advocate and all round badass who entered our lives all those years ago as the inimitable ‘Star Wars’ heroine Princess Leia.

In addition to the outpouring of grief and memories from friends and colleagues, fans have en masse begun to share Fisher’s original audition tape for the now iconic space opera saga, filmed all the way back in 1976.
In the black and white footage, a 19-year-old Fisher is seen seated opposite future on-screen beau Harrison Ford, as the pair recite, fairly complicated, lines on Death Stars, R2-D2, Imperial shipyards and more.
Whilst obviously one of their first meetings, the chemistry between Ford and Fisher, which as we all now know spilled out into a lengthy IRL affair, can be seen simmering along as Fisher almost immediately nails the powerful aura of our favourite galactic Princess.
Good night, sweet Princess.
