WATCH: Family Guy Lampoons The Infamous Jay-Z / Solange Elevator Biff

Folks, it’s worth remembering that Family Guy still exists and is being produced, and Peter Griffin is still some Forrest Gump-like character who happened to be present during seminal moments in history as represented by the now very tired cutaway gag.

The latest ep lampoons an incident that hasn’t got much airplay in the comedy world – the infamous elevator fight between Solange Knowles and Jay-Z, when everyone thought his marriage with Beyoncé was COOKED. That was in 2014, so I guess it’s passed the statute of limitations for cartoons.
In classic Peter Griffin form, he stands idly by during the escalating violence spouting off nonsense about needing a room key for the hotel pool.

There we go. The floodgates have now been opened for satire on this two-year-old event, folks. Have at it. It is no longer “too soon”.
The actual fight took place at the Met Gala in 2014, after which this joint statement was issued:

Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologised to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.
