LA-based photographer Alex Prager evokes the dreamy Technicolour aesthetics of 1960s American cinema and the unshakable ominous vibes of Hitchcockian cinema in her debut short film, “Despair”. The ill-fated heroine is played by actress Bryce Dallas Howard with a perfectly polished ‘porcelain-skin-and-brunch-dress’ look that’s eerily similar to Tippi Hedren in The Birds. Prager’s defining characteristics as an artist is her love of colour – and this 4 minute film is absolutely and beautifully drenched in it.
