Vin Diesel Gave A Tearful Tribute To Paul Walker During A ‘Fast’ Screening

Here is a sentence that is almost too painfully sad to type: Vin Diesel teared up while delivering a tribute to his late best friend Paul Walker during a screening of The Fast & The Furious.

I know. The movie was shown in full at CinemaCon after an introduction from Diesel, who told the crowd it was Walker’s idea that they do an eighth movie – which is why they went ahead and did it. “It was Paul Walker who promised eight,” Diesel said. “It played over and over again in my brain.”

Walker died in a car crash back in 2013.

Diesel continued:
Part of Paul’s legacy lives through every frame that we shoot. You are reminded of this angel that was so integral to this concept of brotherhood for our millennium. There’s something beautiful about that. There’s something celebratory about that.

Visibly fighting back tears, Diesel covered his eyes with his hand. “I always feel like he’s looking down on us so we didn’t want to let him down,” he said.

Diesel said that this movie will kick off a brand new trilogy.
