The three men found guilty of raping a teenager at an Australia Day Party in Brisbane in 2015 will spend six months in jail, after being sentenced at Brisbane District Court this afternoon.
As we reported earlier, Bailey Hayes-Gordon, Jacob Watson, and Nicholas Jackson – all 21-years-old – were convicted of the rape of a 19-year-old man with a bottle at the party while he was unconscious.
Judge Anthony Rafter handed down a two-year jail sentence for the three men, which is to be suspended after six months.
He also noted that the three men seems unfazed by the seriousness of the assault in messages on social media in the days following the incident.
A fourth man, Frazer Eaton, dodged jail time in February after submitting a guilty plea for his involvement, and was given an 18-month jail sentence that was wholly suspended.
