Just like rumours about the existence of your preferred cryptid – we’re partial to the chupacabra around these parts – talk about the continued existence of The X-Files never really seems to go away, and devotees refuse give up hope that the show is out there. Somewhere.
Welp, we now have confirmation: Mulder and Scully will be returning, for real, for the show’s eleventh season.

The blessed outing will see Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny reunite for ten additional episodes of one of the most iconic shows to ever grace the small screen.
Production is slated to begin around the middle of the year, with an eye to broadcast on FOX over the American 2017 – 2018 telly season.
The network’s chief David Madden is as stoked as you are, saying “[show mastermind Chris Carter’s] creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”
