As you may recall, the enigma that was #TheDress provided us all with literally minutes of fun as we gazed upon it and pondered the question of whether its colour scheme was white and gold or blue and black, and what difference that would make in our lives.
Exactly a year on from #TheDress – funny, that – the internet has disgorged another optical illusion in the form of #TheJacket, which some see as black and brown, others as blue and white, and others as green and gold.
It began with a Tumblr post – now deleted but archived here – in which user poppunkblogger said:
“I hate to make a new blue/black white/gold dress meme but my friend has this jacket and she says it’s white and blue but i see black and brown pls tell me what you see”
It could be that the Tumblr deliberately planned to whip this out on the anniversary of #TheDress hoping it would go viral, it could be some sort of marketing stunt by Adidas, or IDK, it could actually be legit, but wither way, it’s clearly black and brown, right?
Twitter is currently locked in an intense debate as to the colour scheme of #TheJacket and … look, we just can’t right now. Argue amongst yourselves. We expect a decision on what colour this damn jacket is by the end of today.
