Netflix have announced they are rebooting ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’ and we, for one, are legitimately BEYOND GODDAMN EXCITED for how completely and utterly gay our televisions are about to be.
The show is being “reimagined” for modern day, and Netflix has ordered 8 episodes.
This is the mission for the new show:
“In a time when America stands divided and the future seems uncertain, a team of five brave men will try to bring us closer together with laughter, heart, and just the right amount of moisturizer. The Emmy Award-winning Queer Eye is back and ready to Make America Fabulous Again. With a new Fab 5 and the show’s toughest missions to date, Queer Eye moves from the Big Apple to turn the Red States pink — one makeover at a time.”
The original show, which featured Carson Kressley, Jai Rodriguez, Thom Filicia, Kyan Douglas, and Ted Allen, won GLAAD‘s Outstanding Reality Program award two years running, and also won the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program in ’04.
Apart from a new cast, and shifting the makeover show from New York to red states of the US, there’s very few details about the Netflix reboot. But you can bet your ass we’ll be letting you know the moment we find out.
We. Are. DYING.
Look, just watch the opening theme with us, and try to tell us you don’t miss it at least a little bit. If you say you don’t, you’re legit lying.
