Sydney Film Festival Unveils 2011 Schedule

Renowned for procuring some of the finest in new and stellar cinematography, the Sydney Film Festival will return this year, bringing with it a slew of fantastic reel and the world’s first 360-degree 3D cinematic experience. Which I guess is just normal life, right?

Probably best know for her creation Me and You and Everyone We Know, Blue-eyed slashie Miranda July will deliver her feline narrated film ‘The Future’, starring herself, Hamish Linklater (The New Adventures of Old Christine) and er, a cat. The film confronts the fleeting moments of freedom prior to cat-adoption. Find me a more perplexing concept and I’ll eat my own cat.

Also landing at the festival is Tran Anh Hung’s adaptation of much loved Haruki Murakami novel Norwegian Wood with music from Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood. Other notables include Paul Giamatti vehicle Win Win, Sundance World Cinema Grand Jury Prize-winner, Happy, Happy and polygamous romantic drama Three, the latest from Run Lola Run writer/director, Tom Tykwer.
