Seth Rogen Has Revealed What Led Emma Watson To Walk Off The Set Of This Is The End

Seth Rogen has revealed that Emma Watson walked off the set of their 2013 film This Is the End, after refusing to shoot a particularly spicy scene involving Channing Tatum.

The film was a comedy about celebrities who found themselves trapped in James Franco‘s Los Angeles mansion, and it featured the kind of raunchy humor typical of one of Rogen’s films.

The scene in question involved Danny McBride, as a cannibal, holding Tatum captive on a leash while wearing a gimp mask, and Seth Rogen said Watson was not keen  on it.

He told GQ that he doesn’t have any hard feeling about it, and that the scene probably just didn’t turn out how she had envisioned it,saying:

“I mean, I don’t look back on that and think, ‘How dare she do that?’ You know? I think sometimes when you read something, when it comes to life it doesn’t seem to be what you thought it was.”

He added that they remained friendly after the incident, saying:

“But it was not some terrible ending to our relationship. She came back the next day to say goodbye. She helped promote the film. No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out in the end.”

He also alluded to the fact that the scene in the finished film was actually different from the one that led Watson to walk off, telling the publication: “She was probably right. It was probably funnier the way we ended up doing it.”

This Is The End was the directorial debt for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who would go on to direct The Interview together.
