The country’s (or, should we say, the Asia-Pacific region’s) premier design event Semi Permanent is back in 2011 drawing some of the most interesting, talented and innovative creative presenters from around the world. The 2011 Sydney event will hit the Sydney Conference & Exhibition Centre over the weekend of May 13 and 14. Here’s the first names in the lineup.
ANNIE SPERLING is a production designer living in Los Angeles. She works with numerous directors and photographers including David LaChapelle, Janusz Kaminski, the Malloys, Brett Ratner, Chris Milk, Jared Leto. A painter and local muralist, Sperling has also designed several iconic Hollywood interior homes and restaurants.
SURFACE TO AIR is a visionary multidisciplinary collective based out of Paris and Brazil that works across creative domains such as fashion, graphics, photography, design, music, films.
REG MOMBASA doesn’t really need an introduction. He’s basically the original Mambo bro and one of Australia’s most prolific painters.
SEB LESTER is a name anyone with a real passion for typography and letterforms will be well familiar with. To have the London based designer, illustrator, artist and legend in the country is worth getting excited over.
