Rumour Has It Osher Gunsberg Is Being Eyed As A Rove & Sam Replacement

Sydney radio is a cutthroat place at the best of times, and this weekend, rumours are spreading that, thanks to recent ratings woes, 2DayFM is looking to shuffle around its roster, and replace Rove McManus and Sam Frost on the morning shift.
Their rumoured replacements? That would be Bachelor host and current Hit Network presenter Osher Gunsberg, and former Australian Idol contestant Em Rusciano, who has a large social media following and significant radio experience.
The source of the rumour (and we’ll say again, it’s just a rumour at this point) is The Daily Telegraph, who report that the network is not happy about Rove and Sam’s 3.3 percent audience share.
Rivals Kyle and Jackie O currently command 9.9 percent in the same slot, so it makes sense that the network might be looking to mix things up to claw back some ratings.
2DayFM have been pretty brutal with their breakfast teams of late – it was only last October that Dan Debuf and Maz Compton lost their gig to Rove and Sam, after only nine months in the role
Southern Cross Austereo denied any imminent line-up changes when asked by the Daily Telegraph, but the network has recently brought Rusciano on for a Sunday night show, possibly to test the waters for a more high-profile slot.
The Daily Tele seem to think that Rove and Sam would be moved to the drive time slot if the rumoured reshuffle were to happen. Expect to hear more soon.
