Riverdale fans, prepare your hearts for an impending explosion. Apparently, our favourite tv lovebirds – Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper – are legitimately a couple IRL. Or they might just be fucking, as is the 2017 way. I for one prefer to believe in ~true love~, but regardless, get ready for some juicy goss.
See, it’s Comic-Con season in the States right now. And that means a lot of real-life sightings of your favourite tv couples being normal people, sitting on panels looking vaguely bored, chewing the ends of their pens, making inside jokes with each other, having their water bottles stolen by crazed fans. You know, normal life shit.
Anyway, there was a particular Entertainment Weekly event that’s fuelled rumours the two are absolutely making out in the Riverdale locker room/sharing sundaes for real.
“Reinhart was spotted wearing Sprouse’s maroon blazer at Entertainment Weekly‘s Comic-Con Bash in San Diego Saturday night, and the two were later seen canoodling, holding hands and kissing,” People online reported.
Because I am very much a professional investigative journalist and also very good at stalking friends-exes-ex-girlfriends on social media, I have found evidence of this jacket-wearing.

CHECK. THAT. MOTHERFUCKER. OUT. See how Cole was wearing a very fetching maroon jacket to the event? And then Lili has it on in those candid pics? Evidence. Cold, hard evidence.
Well, it’s not exactly evidence that they swapped spit. Maybe they’re just pals and she was cold. Whatever, let’s just blindly believe in their love, ok? Throw me a frickin’ BONE here, mates.
Of course, Riverdale sad-cases like myself know this isn’t the first time the rumour mill has started up when it comes to Cole and Lili. Fans freaked the literal fuck out over this pic Cole posted on his Instagram back in May, for example.
And Lili’s frequently shared pics taken by Cole when they’re off duty, so they clearly at least enjoy each other’s company.
They also mooch around on set together.
We’re unlikely to ever get solid confirmation of their relationship though – Cole told ELLE US back in May that he’s not one to spill tea on his private life.
“I am one of those guys that’s never ever going to talk about my private life with the public sphere. I mean people can talk about the Jughead as much as they want but when it comes to the personal relationships, I have spent much of my life separating work and play so I will continue to do so,” he told the publication.
Whatever’s going on with them, we are here for it. Keep teasing us, Cole and Lili. We love it.
