Qantas Drops 2017’s Most Watched Plane Movies & What’s Wrong With You All?

Qantas has released the list of their most watched in-flight entertainment titles of the year and to be honest we’re really worried about the frequent flyers of this wonderful country of ours.

We’re going to have to blame this one on some kind of in-flight sickness that comes with being crammed into a metal tube and flung about the world at 40,000 feet, as the number one most watched plane movie of 2017 is the heinous, critically-rattled animated flick Boss Baby.

Yes. The film where Alec Baldwin voices a baby, who just happens to also be a boss, and which one critic called “an unholy mish-mash between saccharine family melodrama and anarchic Loony Tunes-style farce… a big, gooey mess of a movie” absolutely thrilled Aussies strapped into their minuscule chairs this calendar year.

Rounding out the top five were the legitimately great X-Men movie Logan, critical-hit Hidden Figures and family friendly blockbusters Beauty & The Beast and Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them. Cop the full list here:

  1. The Boss Baby
  2. Logan
  3. Hidden Figures
  4. Beauty and the Beast
  5. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
  6. Lion
  7. La La Land
  8. Baywatch
  9. Kong: Skull Island
  10. Baby Driver

Elsewhere in the TV stakes, sitcom-by-the-numbers Modern Family was the most viewed show and Ariana Grande took out most-listened to song, so thankfully Qantas flyer’s ears are at least working properly.

Let’s all collectively try to do better with our sky-adjacent viewing next year yeah?

Let’s let Ariana serenade the memory of this news away:
