If you’ve missed the bumpy ride that has been the Ghostbusters remake, Paul Feig‘s all-female reboot hasn’t been without controversy, mostly with gripes along the lines of how dare ANYONE touch a Bill Murray classic.
They weren’t without merit – imo, everything Bill Murray touches should be immediately preserved in amber – but the Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones is shaping up to be a solid comic offering.
And it’s not like Feig’s ignored the original: Dan Aykroyd was on the writing team, Murray’s got a cameo (not seen in this trailer), and there’s enough ectoplasmic fluid to abate fears that the film’s nostalgic quality would be ruined by modern-day CGI.
Cannot fkn wait. Release date tbd.
