Start preparing your best ten-pronged arguments in staunch defence of your top four favourite female comedians (Kristen Wiig, Tina & Amy, Jenny Slate, in that order) because Paul Feig’s long-rumoured all-female Ghostbusters 3 sequel has this morning become a reality, now that screenwriter Katie Dippold has signed on to co-write the long-gestating script.
The two previously worked together on female cop buddy comedy The Heat; Dippold has also previously worked on Parks & Recreation, which bodes well for the inevitable shoo-ins Melissa McCarthy and Poehler.
In no particular order and for your serious consideration should you happen to be either a card-carrying member of the the CSA or a fantasy casting director alike: Aubrey Plaza, Lizzy Caplan, Mindy Kaling, Kristen Schaal, Amy Schumer, Emma Stone, Rebel Wilson, Ilana Glazer & Abi Jacobsen, Anna Faris, Maya Rudolph, Ellie Kemper and Chelsea Peretti. They’re who you should call.
