THR reports that Oscar winning Aussie actress who once played a weather woman Nicole Kidman has shot a brief cameo role in the forthcoming Anchorman sequel, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Other rumoured additions include star and co-writer Will Ferrell’s Old School sorority sisters Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson who have apparently shot “tiny parts” too. We can only assume this means another epic inter-channel news team “rumble”, spearheaded last time by Ferrell, Wilson, Vaughn, Ben Stiller and Tim Robbins and ending with a parking lot full of polyester draped corpses and Brick Tamland stabbing someone with a trident.
The project, currently shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, will reunite the OG Channel Four news team – Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate – and welcome an increasingly impressive list of newcomers including Greg Kinnear, Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig, James Marsden and Aussie Josh Lawson.
The film, co-written and directed by Adam Mackay and produced by Judd Apatow, is slated for release December 20.
