New Zealand Wants To Shoot Aussie Tourists With Drones

Hats off to New Zealand for unleashing what may be the most bizarre tourism commercial of all time on an unsuspecting public. I’ve watched this thing roughly six times now, and I still have no idea if it’s real or an elaborate hoax.

Basically, the long and the short of it is that New Zealand wants you to come frolic on its picturesque ski slopes so it can film you using an aerial drone device, and then … I can’t even, just watch this:
The voiceover offers tourists “a video of you taken via drone that’s flown high up into the sky, capturing you on the mountain, with the unique New Zealand landscape behind you.”
“Once your drone has been taken, we’ll send it to you to share on social media via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #NZDronie.”
According to Facebook, the very real drone device is in Queenstown today, shooting tourists from the air. Some people have already had run-ins with it, including this guy.

Forget selfies, aerial drone footage is now where it’s at.
