Over the New Year period, the internet completely and utterly lost its fucking shit over a couple of blurry Instagram shots showing Miley Cyrus possibly maybe reuniting with her former fiancé Liam Hemsworth at the Falls Festival in Byron.
That was all the evidence anyone needed that the couple was totally back on, and now, Miley herself has kicked that shit into hyperdrive by posting a photo of herself wearing a ring very similar to the one Liam gave her when he originally proposed in 2012.
A certain level of insouciance is required to announce your possible engagement to a Hemsworth by chucking the world’s media an Instagram photo captioned “I look like a fucking strawberry”.
Luckily for all of us, Miley nails that every time:
A short time later, she dropped the remix version of her latest hit, and now we are dead:
There has been no comment from Miley, Liam or any other satellite Cyruses or Hemsworths on the matter, but gossip monsters TMZ report that she was seen “driving a moving truck” to his Malibu home over the weekend, which makes this all sound totally legit.
Last October, Liam told news and current affairs magazine Men’s Fitness:
“You fall in love with who you fall in love with; you can never choose. I guess some people just come with a little more baggage. I mean, look – we were together five years, so I don’t think those feelings will ever change. And that’s good because that proves to me that it was real. It wasn’t just a fling. It really was an important part of my life and always will be … She’s a free spirit. I think she’ll always surprise people with what she does, but she’s not a malicious person in any way. She’s a young girl who wants to do what she wants to do.”
