Lena Dunham’s Annie Leibovitz Lensed Vogue Cover, High Fashion Editorial Has Arrived

Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, your girl Lena Dunham appears on the cover of and in a High Fashion editorial taking pride of place in the February issue of American Vogue. Appearing in the magazine for the second time since she was 11 and wearing a coterie of labels that her hapless Girls alter-ego Hannah Horvath would never dream of owning – let alone pronouncing – (in order of appearance: Prada, Rochas, Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Céline, Burberry), the spread strikes a fitting balance between Vogue’s revenue-based advertising concerns, Leibowitz’s characteristic airbrushed hyper-romantic realism and Dunham’s *•.¸quirky¸.•*´ affectations. Yes, that’s a pigeon on her head! Crazy, I know!

Lena’s dog Lamby, a Prozac-addled mutt, seriously, also stars.
You can view the photos in full and read the accompanying six-page interview over at Vogue. Don’t just stand there, let’s get to it, et cetera.
