UPDATE: Two French bulldogs belonging to Lady Gaga have been returned safe and sound, days after they were stolen at gunpoint in LA and her dog walker was shot.

There are reports that a woman dropped them off at a police station earlier today, and a representative for the singer, who is currently in Italy, was able to verify them as belonging to her.

Police say that the dogs are unharmed and that the woman is “uninvolved and unassociated” with the violent robbery. It is not yet clear how she came to have them.

EARLIER: Lady Gaga has taken to social media to make a desperate plea for the return of her two French bulldogs, who were stolen in a violent armed robbery in Los Angeles.

Earlier this week, a dog walker employed by Lady Gaga was shot by an assailant who then made off with her two Frenchies Koji and Gustav in a white van.

Video of the incident shows the vehicle approaching dog walker Ryan Fischer, before two men get out and attempt to snatch the dogs.

Fischer puts up a fight but falls to the ground after being shot several times, and the dogs are heard yelping as they are loaded into the back seat.

Fischer thankfully survived, but Gaga is now desperate for the return of her precious dogs, and has taken to Instagram to make an impassioned plea.

There were reports via a representative that Lady Gaga was offering a $US 500,000 reward for the safe return of her Frenchies, and she has since confirmed this in a statement to Instagram.

She wrote:

My beloved dogs Koji and Gustav were taken in Hollywood two nights ago. My heart is sick and I am praying my family will be whole again with an act of kindness. I will pay $500,000 for their safe return. Email to contact us. Or, if you bought or found them unknowingly, the reward is the same. I continue to love you Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You’re forever a hero.

Lady Gaga herself is currently in Italy filming Ridley Scott‘s Gucci, so she missed the entire ordeal, but is understandably frantic for the safe return of her dogs.
